Studies in Germany repeatedly show a need for improving teaching and learning in all age groups and grades. What these areas could and should look like in the future is just one of the topics covered by the University of Hamburg’s master’s degree in “Educational and Educational Science”. Students have the opportunity to set a focus by choosing a profile:

  • "Participation and Lifelong Learning (PuLL)": aims to qualify students for cross-sectional pedagogy and politics that do justice to the different target groups in their idiosyncrasies and their heterogeneity
  • "Educational Theory and Empirical Educational Research (BuEB)": offers an innovative combination of two well-established orientations of educational science: educational theory and empirical educational research. In doing so, he aims at the high social and educational policy need for empirically founded knowledge about upbringing, socialization and educational processes.

The course is intended to convey the current level of knowledge in the subject and to provide training in subject-specific methods. Current pedagogical challenges in the areas of society, politics, economy and culture are reflected in depth in the master's degree through various approaches.
