The master's program in meteorology benefits from the embedding of meteorology in the Hamburg climate campus, where there is close cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology and the other geosciences at the University of Hamburg. The research-oriented course imparts in-depth knowledge of atmospheric physics and meteorological modelling. Elective areas and a very wide range of topics for master’s theses offer a wide range of opportunities to tailor your studies to your own interests. The Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree prepares you for a demanding job in the environmental sector, especially in connection with the energy transition, or for a doctorate.
With only 30 new students each year, intensive contact between teachers and students is guaranteed. The students are involved in research projects at an early stage and often take part in field experiments.
In addition, through the international contacts of the climate campus, there are many opportunities to do a semester or internship abroad, e.g. B. in the USA, Australia or China to integrate into the study.
