Companies, consulting firms and public administration are therefore looking for highly qualified specialists who combine distinctive IT know-how with management qualities and high communication skills. The consecutive four-semester master’s degree in IT Management and Consulting (ITMC) is research-oriented and practice-oriented and qualifies around 40 high potentials every year with a Master of Science degree.


This innovative and well-established study program is carried out by the University of Hamburg's Department of Computer Science and is supported by a board of trustees made up of 22 well-known companies in the context of internships, projects and master's theses. The sponsors accompany the course, guarantee the practice-oriented parts and promote the course in a publicly effective way. This makes ITMC a novelty and flagship of Hamburg's IT.

Admission Requirements

  • Graduated from one of the bachelor's courses in computer science, business informatics, software system development, human-computer interaction, computing in science at the University of Hamburg or
  • Degree in another bachelor's degree in which comparable coursework was completed with the bachelor's degree in computer science.
  • If necessary, a corresponding language certificate for German language skills.
