Students can choose "Linguistics" or "Literary Studies" as their subject profile.

The course conveys the ability to work independently and scientifically, as well as to confidently present the results orally and in writing in both German and French. At the same time, communicative, cultural and media skills are to be trained as key qualifications for various professional fields.

Admission Requirements

Basic language skills are required for French. Evidence is provided either by a certificate from a general education school that 300 hours of instruction have been completed, or by submitting the DELF B1 certificate. This applies to French as a major, minor and teaching subject as part of a teacher training course. If French was chosen as an advanced course or as a basic course examination subject in the Abitur examination and this is evident from the officially certified copy of the Abitur certificate, no separate proof is required.
