The Doctoral Program in Educational Systems and Environments is an interinstitutional, blended learning program with primarily online activities and some in-person components. It is the result of initiatives undertaken by the Research and Innovation Network in Educational Systems and Environments ( RIISAE ) to contribute to the consolidation of the Common Space for Distance Higher Education ( ECOESaD ) in Mexico. This program trains researchers through systematic, innovative, and original research.

The program's thematic scope is limited only by the multiplicity of interactions between education and information and communication technologies (ICTs). These interactions include the management of public policies regarding the virtualization of educational systems, the application of ICTs in teaching and learning processes, technology-mediated (distance) education, technological appropriation as both an educational process and product, the administration of ICT-mediated educational systems and environments, and the transformations in educational systems and environments in response to the ubiquity of ICTs, which permeate all aspects of society. The doctoral program aims to foster the development of an interdisciplinary and comprehensive understanding of the complex interactions between education and ICTs by exposing students to diverse disciplinary perspectives on this issue and promoting discussion, collaborative work, and the interdisciplinary approach to research problems.

This postgraduate program is registered with the National Postgraduate System of the SECIHTI (Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation). Applicants accepted into the program are not guaranteed a living stipend from the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation. The allocation of stipends will be subject to availability and the criteria established by the SECIHTI in the respective calls for applications.
