The postgraduate degree in socio-medical sciences, which integrates the master's and doctorate levels, arises from the need to establish a bridge between the health sciences and the social sciences, promoting scientific and humanistic development in the area of ​​health with a social approach.


It offers a space for critical and constructive discussion on topics related to the theory and practice of socio-medicine.


In this case, the aim is to train: Doctors in socio-medicine to work as independent researchers, capable of increasing and developing original and useful knowledge in socio-medicine, here and now, as well as structuring and directing research groups.


These objectives allow access to our doctoral program to postgraduate teachers with social elements related to socio-medicine. That they intend to develop in the public, social and private areas the social perspective from their daily work, promoting a change that makes health and services accessible in a culturally comprehensive and socially responsible way.
The postgraduate course is developed sequentially in a school-based manner, during its 4 semesters to complete the doctorate, applying itself, the first half to fine-tune and enrich the theoretical-practical bases of the research work to be carried out and the second part is focused individually and participatory. to finish the thesis, obtain the degree and complete two publications that emerge from it. In the opinion of the Academic Committee, mobility adjustments may be made.
The postgraduate sequence forces us to finish complete master's-doctorate cycles, to start another.
As far as costs are concerned, in addition to the registration costs according to the university fee, at the Master's Doctorate level, 6 minimum monthly salaries are contributed, each semester.
It should be noted that currently the postgraduate course does not have support scholarships, so all expenses are paid by the interested party.
