The Master's Degree in Sciences for Development, Sustainability and Tourism is based on an interdisciplinary vision of social reality, under the postulates of the Theory of Sustainable Development, Regional/Local Development and Human Development, focusing attention on tourist activity; since it is necessary to generate proposals for solutions to the social problems that arise in those regions where tourism activity is essential.    Even though the postgraduate program focuses its attention on the phenomenon of tourism, its spectrum covers a wide number of disciplines: social sciences, particularly economics, sociology and anthropology; environmental sciences, human ecology, ecological planning and environmental impact; and urban and territorial planning, geography and urban planning, among others.

Admission Requirements

  • The Bachelor's degree or degree certificate in any of the areas of social, economic, administrative and environmental sciences.
  • Accredit mastery of at least one foreign language, according to a reading comprehension test applied by the department of international studies and foreign languages ​​of CU Costa.
  • Pass the EXANI III exam applied by CENEVAL.
  • Approve a preparatory course proposed by the Academic Board.
  • Present an interview, with the members of the Academic Board, that assesses their interest, their profile and the conditions that facilitate their good development in the program and possible obtaining of a degree.
  • Present a research protocol, which is the basis for the thesis work in accordance with the lines of research and generation of knowledge of the program, endorsed by one of the professors of the master's program and must have the approval of the Academic Board .
  • Full time dedication.
