The specific objectives of the program are as follows:


To train highly qualified professionals in the research areas of the Master's program, capable of contributing to the generation and application of new knowledge.

To train the student, based on established theories, the scientific method and current techniques, to design proposals aimed at developing and applying useful knowledge to solve problems in different sectors of the state and the country.

Develop skills for the design, development and execution of research projects, as well as for the dissemination of results in a clear, explicit and technically rigorous manner, both nationally and internationally.

Admission Requirements

These will be subject to the provisions of the General Regulations for Student Admission to the University of Guadalajara, and articles 49 through 55 of the General Postgraduate Regulations. In addition, the following requirements must be met: 
  • Applicants must hold a degree or diploma in a field related to the postgraduate program and proof of completion of their undergraduate social service requirement. If the applicant submitted their undergraduate professional evaluation without proof of completion of social service, they must attach a copy of said proof to their degree certificate. In any case, the Academic Board will officially publish the list of related undergraduate degrees, which may be modified by the Academic Board as deemed necessary.
  • Certificate or equivalent document that proves the minimum overall average of eighty from previous studies.
  • Pass two interviews conducted by the program's professors.
  • Document demonstrating knowledge of English at level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​or its equivalent.
  • Two letters of recommendation from researchers at any institution.
  • Pass the preparatory course.
  • Those additional ones established by the corresponding call for applications.
