The 2011 constitutional reform, which obliges all authorities within their sphere of competence to promote, respect, protect and guarantee human rights; however, to date, its study has focused more on the public function and the jurisdictional exercise, however, this obligation goes further, since such obligation implies all professionals in any area of knowledge who possess power or command whether de facto or de jure.

If by  Human Rights  we understand " all those rights that every man or woman has simply by virtue of being human and being part of the society in which they live,"  the implications of this constitutional reform extend to all areas of knowledge, since Human Rights encompass knowledge of a large number of subjects and needs of daily life: education, health, environment, access to justice, sports, family, access to information, to name a few.

Therefore, given the limited number of multidisciplinary studies on Human Rights that allow for a thorough understanding of the social problems they entail and thus find solutions that bridge the gap between law and reality, the University of Guadalajara, through the University Center of Tonalá, reaffirms its social commitment by training experts and researchers dedicated to the creation, analysis, evaluation, and promotion of scientific knowledge on Human Rights, contributing not only from a legal perspective but also from a multidisciplinary one, to the effective satisfaction of society's needs and thereby generating better conditions for citizens.
