Mexico and the world are experiencing an epidemiological moment in which diseases related to nutrition predominate, both due to excesses, such as being overweight (in its different degrees) and chronic degenerative diseases, as well as due to deficiencies such as malnutrition and anemia.


The current situation of nutrition research is out of balance with the needs and demands of Mexican society. This direct doctorate is a research-oriented educational program, in a school-based modality, lasting 10 school cycles (5 years), within the framework of the translational research model. Its purpose is to train high-quality human resources capable of addressing problems related to the food-nutritional process based on multidisciplinary work between basic sciences and applied sciences, to innovate and optimize the generation and application of knowledge in this area.

  • Bachelor's degree or bachelor's degree certificate in nutrition, medicine, pharmaceutical chemistry and biology, or a related degree; The Academic Board will consider the contents of the program completed by the applicant and her professional experience.
  • Original official certificate that accredits a minimum average of eighty.
  • Curriculum vitae with evidence of your academic and research career.
  • Letter of explanation of reasons to study the program.
  • Letter from the applicant indicating their commitment to dedicate themselves full time to the postgraduate degree, as well as to finish it in a timely manner.
  • Accredit, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, command of the English language, at least at level B1 (desirable B2), or equivalent (examples of exams: TOEFL ITP, TOEIC, IELTS, etc.).
  • Pass the basic research knowledge exam, proposed by the Academic Board.
  • Pass the nutrition knowledge exam determined by the Academic Board.
  • Present an interview with at least two members of the Academic Board (preferably made up of full-time professors of the program).
  • Submit a preliminary project of work related to the lines of knowledge generation of the program.
  • Exhibition of a topic related to nutrition, assigned and evaluated by the Selection Committee.
  • Those who establish the call.
