Lines of knowledge generation and application
General objective . To train researchers in Mesoamerican Studies, who will acquire knowledge about both traditional and recent paradigms and a renewed and critical vision of archaeological, decolonial, linguistic, historical and anthropological research that will be dynamic, updated and open to inter and multidisciplinary approaches.
Specific objectives
The program trains researchers, teachers, and professionals committed to human, national, and local development, capable of producing, transmitting, organizing, and planning knowledge, with a special focus on Mesoamerica, guided by professional ethics, respect for the country's multiculturalism, and criteria of excellence. Thus, the master's program aims to ensure that its graduates:
- Archaeology of western and northwestern Mexico.
- Linguistic documentation.
- Decolonial studies.
- History and ethnography of the Mesoamerican peoples.

- Write historical and ethnographic texts that deepen knowledge about Mesoamerican peoples through a multidisciplinary approach.
- Know how to convey appreciation, respect, and appropriate information to the people, children, adolescents, and adults with whom you interact.

Admission Requirements
These are those established in the current university regulations applicable to postgraduate studies, as well as the following:
- Bachelor's degree certificate or graduation certificate and proof of completion of social service in the areas of social sciences and humanities or related disciplines according to the criteria established by the Academic Board.
- Have a minimum average of 80 in undergraduate studies, supported by a certificate.
- Attendance at the preparatory course (presentation of the LGAC of the postgraduate program).
- Research project related to one of the postgraduate LGACs.
- Submit at least one written work that, in the applicant's judgment, demonstrates their competence in academic writing and/or research (undergraduate thesis, publications, or school work).
- Take the CENEVAL EXANI III exam.
- Demonstrate a minimum level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), preferably in English or its equivalent.
- Statement of reasons.
- Personal interview with members of the Academic Board.
- Full-time availability to dedicate to the master's degree for two years.
- Approve the other requirements published in the respective call for applications.
