The process of creating this Master's degree began at the end of 2023 with the signing of the Agreement for the creation of the Master in Gender Based Violence with the support of Erasmus+ and the European Union. The project involves 10 universities and a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), and its main objective is to create a postgraduate degree that supports the respective communities in building capacities to create and/or empower professionals to handle problems related to gender violence. The above in three Latin American countries: Mexico, Colombia and Peru.

This master's degree is based on a solid review of sources, regulations and postgraduate degrees related to the study of gender and gender violence. Relevance and feasibility studies were carried out with the academic community, potential students and employers. The postgraduate degree was designed in accordance with the institutional structure in order to train specialists capable of influencing the study, detection, prevention and eradication of this social problem.
