The Master of Science in Food Safety has as its vision the training of high-level professionals capable of applying scientific knowledge in solving problems that concern different productive sectors.   In 2025, the Master of Science in Food Safety is seen as a program of excellence due to the acceptance that its graduates have in various productive and governmental areas, since they have ethical principles and solid scientific training, supported by their participation in groups of nationally and internationally recognized research and academic bodies and cutting-edge lines of research that allow them to generate and apply knowledge of food microbiology and toxicology and the development and validation of rapid detection tools and technologies applied to improving food safety.

  • Have a bachelor's degree from an academic program related to food safety, at the discretion of the Master's Academic Board; For this, the Academic Board will officially issue the list of related degrees, which may be modified when the Academic Board itself deems it necessary. Only in the event that the applicant has graduated from the University of Guadalajara, may he submit instead of the bachelor's degree, his degree certificate, and, in the special case that he has presented his professional evaluation of the bachelor's degree without the requirement of having the proof of termination of social service, the applicant must submit a copy of said proof attached to his degree certificate.
  • Accredit a minimum average of eighty with an original certificate or comparable document from previous studies.
  • Submit a letter stating their reasons for entering the Postgraduate course, as well as their commitment to dedicate themselves full time to its activities.
  • Take and pass a knowledge test.
  • Demonstrate by means of an official document, command of the English language equivalent to at least level B1, or higher, of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​or its equivalent.
  • Carry out an interview before the committee appointed for it, with the aim, among others, of demonstrating personal qualities, for example: interest in research and innovation, oral and written communication skills, and interest in developing in a work environment that promote the application of the knowledge to be acquired.
  • Those additional ones that the call establishes and that are defined by the Academic Board of the Program, based on academic and quality criteria.
