Regarding art (and its specific disciplines, from performing arts such as dance, music, theater and film; from oral traditions and literature to avant-garde art, visual arts, virtuality, technology and digital design) and culture (in its broadest and most comprehensive sense, that is, as the actions of human beings in society) systematic research is more necessary than ever in order to shape more critical, more reflective societies, in the understanding that artistic and cultural phenomena, in their different manifestations, are a relevant and multi-significant object that must be studied from different theoretical perspectives in the universities of Mexico.

Admission Requirements
- The master's degree or, where applicable, the examination record for the areas of arts, social sciences and humanities.
- Minimum average of 80 or its equivalent in the last academic degree obtained.
- Have academic or professional experience in areas related to the program, or be an outstanding student.
- Demonstrate research experience, which must be supported by the submission of a digital version of your thesis or written master's thesis.
- Availability to undertake studies with full-time dedication and delivery of a letter of commitment; in addition, if you are a staff member of a higher education institution or similar, an institutional letter that endorses you.
- Approve the interview conducted by the admissions committee.
- Present and pass a reading comprehension exam in a foreign language other than Spanish, through a valid certificate (English, French, German, Italian or Portuguese).
- Take and pass the EXANI III exam administered by CENEVAL.
- Letter of commitment to present your postgraduate thesis within a maximum period of four years, starting from the time of your registration.
- Those additional ones established by the call for applications.
- Candidates are required to submit references or letter(s) of recommendation for acceptance
