The Doctorate in Higher Education Management (DGES) of the University Center of Economic and Administrative Sciences (CUCEA) of the University of Guadalajara, has the purpose of satisfying the current demand for researchers in the field of university management with a clear understanding of the problems and challenges that the sector faces and the role that educational leaders play within the management and research processes oriented to the democratic, relevant and efficient transformation of Higher Education Institutions.
Hence, the Doctorate in Higher Education Management is aimed at professor-researchers, specialized academic consultants, high-level officials, senior managers and middle managers, who from an interdisciplinary and comparative perspective carry out basic or applied research in the field of higher education management, and who are also able to design, implement and evaluate policies that promote necessary and relevant change processes in Higher Education Institutions.

Admission Requirements
These are those established by articles 50, 50 Bis and 52 of the General Postgraduate Regulations of the University of Guadalajara, the others established in the university regulations and the following:
- Demonstrate reading comprehension of the English language.
- Complete and pass the preparatory course determined by the Academic Board.
- Submit two letters of recommendation from academics, researchers, or directors of Higher Education Institutions.
- Submit a research protocol.
- Participate in an interview with the members of the Doctoral Academic Board.
- Please submit copies of any publications (articles, essays, technical or research reports) in which you have participated to demonstrate your academic experience in Higher Education. If you do not have any publications, please submit a copy of your master's thesis or another document that demonstrates your research skills.
- Those determined by the Academic Board, in accordance with the powers granted to it by the General Postgraduate Regulations of the University of Guadalajara and the regulations and guidelines of the corresponding University Center.
