The tasks of evaluating the risks of tectonic, meteorological, and oceanic phenomena that affect our seas, coastlines, and land require a large number of specialists.   The main objective of the Master of Science Program in Geophysics is  to train researchers of the highest academic quality, capable of carrying out original and independent research, training human resources and creating and directing work groups in Geosciences.

Admission Requirements

  • Record or degree in any of the undergraduate courses in physics, geophysics, geography, geology, engineering, mathematics, meteorology, oceanography, and areas related to the master's degree in the opinion of the Postgraduate Academic Board.
  • Take a knowledge test. It will be applied based on a special program, with which the postgraduate candidate will prepare for the exam with a maximum anticipation of 6 months before it. This program must include the fundamentals of the specialty, English language (reading and free translation of a text of the specialty) and computing (basic operating systems and experience in handling database packages and word processors).
  • Interview with the Postgraduate Academic Board, which will evaluate the application and listen to the student's presentation on their area of ​​interest.
  • Upon being accepted as a student, the Postgraduate Academic Board will assign you a tutor and a basic study plan will be designed based on your background and proposal.
