Assessing the risks of tectonic, meteorological, and oceanic phenomena affecting our seas, coastlines, and land requires a large number of specialists.  
The Master of Science in Geophysics Program's main objective is  to train researchers of the highest academic caliber, capable of conducting original and independent research, developing human resources, and creating and leading research groups in the geosciences.

Assessing the risks of tectonic, meteorological, and oceanic phenomena affecting our seas, coastlines, and land requires a large number of specialists.  
The Master of Science in Geophysics Program's main objective is  to train researchers of the highest academic caliber, capable of conducting original and independent research, developing human resources, and creating and leading research groups in the geosciences.

Admission Requirements

In addition to those stipulated by current university regulations, the following are required: 
  • Certificate or title in any of the undergraduate degrees in Physics, Geophysics, Geography, Geology, Engineering, Mathematics, Meteorology, Oceanography, and areas related to the Master's degree at the discretion of the Postgraduate Academic Board. 
  • Take a knowledge exam. It will be administered based on a special program. The candidate will prepare for the exam no more than 6 months in advance. This program must include the fundamentals of the specialty, English language (reading and free translation of a text related to the specialty), and computer skills (basic operating systems and experience using database software and word processors).
  • Interview with the Postgraduate Academic Board, which will evaluate the application and listen to the student's presentation on their area of ​​interest. 
  • Upon acceptance as a student, the Postgraduate Academic Board will assign a tutor and design a basic study plan based on your background and proposal.
