Our master's degree is offered by the Department of Ecology and Natural Resource Management (DERN) of the University of Guadalajara in the city of Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, Mexico.
This academic program lasts four semesters (two years). Courses are offered in a modular format and are held in the mornings, Monday through Friday. The master's degree is awarded upon presentation and defense of a thesis based on original research.
Admission is annual, and classes begin in August. Tuition costs 1.8 Units of Measurement and Updating (UMA) per semester.
The Master's program is recognized by the National Graduate System (SNP) of the SECIHTI as a research-based graduate program, which grants priority in obtaining the living allowance scholarship for those accepted into the program. However, the entire application process, including follow-up and final approval, is dependent on the SECIHTI.

Admission Requirements
- Letter of intent to apply for postgraduate studies.
- Bachelor's degree or degree certificate.
- Bachelor's degree certificate showing a minimum overall average of 80/100,
- Curriculum vitae with copies of your supporting documents.
- Selection exam.
- Accreditation of Level B1 of English according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) with no more than one year of age issued by an institution with official recognition.
- A letter of recommendation issued by an academic or researcher of recognized prestige in areas related to the master's program.
- Interview with the Postgraduate Academic Board.
- The other requirements published in the respective call for applications, defined by the Academic Board.
- Candidates are required to submit references or letter(s) of recommendation for acceptance
- Candidates are required to submit an essay(s) for acceptance
