The Master's Degree in Educational Research (MIE) belongs to the Department of Studies in Education (DEEDUC), made up of academics with extensive academic experience and involved in national and international networks, who have an important presence in the Mexican Council of Educational Research (COMIE), the Network of Postgraduate Studies in Education, the Mexican Network of Researchers of Educational Research, the Network of Studies on Educational Institutions, RESIEDU and in CLACSO, among other organizations.
In October 2013, the Department of Educational Studies of the University Center for Social Sciences and Humanities of the University of Guadalajara, headquarters of the postgraduate program: Master in Educational Research, changed its headquarters to the new facilities known as “Campus Belenes”, with 2 newly created buildings, in this new headquarters.
The program's new headquarters features six classrooms, each comfortably seating 20 people, with eight rectangular tables arranged in a round or seminar-style layout. These classrooms are equipped with projectors and retractable screens, whiteboards, audio and video equipment connections, air conditioning, artificial and natural lighting, and a computer lab exclusively for student use. The program also includes 16 additional rooms, each seating 12 people, furnished in a meeting room format. Research professors in the MIE program have individual offices of 10 square meters, or share offices with another researcher in a 14-square-meter space.
The MIE's physical headquarters has three auditoriums for academic events. The "Fernando Pozos Ponce" Room in Building "A" has a maximum capacity of 100 attendees. A multipurpose auditorium in Building "C" has a capacity of 250, and a central auditorium in the same building "C" has a capacity of 350 people.
It also has a documentation center specializing in educational research, which currently has more than 36,840 books and subscriptions to more than 130 journals.
The program design includes common core subjects, and upon admission, students choose a track of study, which is equivalent to a specialization within the curriculum. This ensures student specialization, providing training in specific content for researching a particular set of educational problems. Each track of study outlines the sequence of content and activities necessary to achieve mastery of that specialization. Therefore, when students are placed in a track of study, they are guaranteed supervision by high-level researchers who possess the skills and experience to ensure a high-quality education.

Admission Requirements
In addition to those required by applicable university regulations, the following are required:
- The degree certificate or diploma; preferably in a related discipline; such as education, sociology, anthropology, psychology, history, philosophy and those related to the social sciences or the field of education.
- Demonstrate a minimum average of eighty with an original certificate or equivalent document from previous studies.
- Take and pass a reading comprehension exam in at least one foreign language;
- Letter of intent explaining the reasons for taking the program.
- Those additional ones established by the call for applications.
