The Doctorate in Science in Biotechnological Processes, in its traditional format, is a postgraduate program designed for Master of Science graduates in the fields of science and technology within the field of Biotechnology who are interested in conducting experimental, technological, and/or theoretical research in the areas of environmental, food, microbial, and/or biomedical biotechnology. It lasts eight semesters. During this time, students take courses such as Advanced Biochemistry and Industrial Microbiology. Students conduct original research in accordance with the aforementioned research areas. Upon completion of this postgraduate program, you will be able to identify emerging problems related to the production and innovation of agri-food, chemical-pharmaceutical, and biological products, with a focus on health and environmental impact, as well as develop solutions in multidisciplinary areas.

Admission Requirements

 In addition to those required by university regulations, the requirements for both doctoral programs are:
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in fields related to the postgraduate program; this relationship will be determined by the Academic Board.
  • Original official certificate that proves a minimum average of eighty.
  • Submit a letter stating your commitment to dedicate yourself full-time to postgraduate activities.
  • Present and pass a TOEFL ITP English exam with a minimum of 337 points, or the Common European Framework of Reference exam and prove that you have obtained Level A2.
  • Take and pass the entrance exam or pass the preparatory courses if the postgraduate program has them scheduled.
  • Conduct an interview before the Academic Board of the Doctorate in Sciences in Biotechnological Processes and obtain an approval result, verifiable by means of an official letter issued by the Academic Board/Coordinator of the postgraduate program. 
  • Those established by the call for applications.

  • Candidates are required to submit an essay(s) for acceptance
