The Master's Program in Environmental Health Sciences is the first online Master's program at the University of Guadalajara. It is a joint program between the University Center for Biological and Agricultural Sciences (CUCBA) and the University Center for Health Sciences (CUCS), under the coordination of graduate studies departments. It began in 1995 with support from the Pan American Center for Human Ecology and Health of the Pan American Health Organization (ECO-OPS). Currently, it is a graduate program registered with the National System of Graduate Studies of the National Council of Science and Technology (SNP-CONACYT), at the consolidated level.
This postgraduate program has an interdisciplinary training model that addresses the health of human communities and ecosystems as complex and dynamic systems. It analyzes community interactions, recognizes stressors and degradation factors as mechanisms that disrupt the balance of ecosystems and landscapes, impacting health, quality of life, and sustainable development. It generates knowledge and proposals to slow the trend of degradation, prevent and control threats to human health, and restore the conditions that maintain equilibrium and provide certainty to communities and territories, making them habitable and sustainable.
The Program trains researchers with an interdisciplinary perspective of cutting-edge theory and methodology, with a high social commitment, who critically incorporate recent advances in the field worldwide, while opening spaces for the study of regional perspectives and experiences that represent creative responses in accordance with environmental reality and social contexts.
Academic activities are conducted with the participation of faculty from four university centers within the Jalisco University Network and invited external professors. Students attend the facilities of CUCS and CUCBA for their coursework.

Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the following admission requirements: The admission requirements for the Master's Program in Environmental Health Sciences are those established by university regulations, and those indicated below:
•Have a bachelor's degree.
•Provide proof of a minimum average of eighty with an original certificate or document that is comparable to previous studies.
•Submit and pass the reading comprehension exam of at least one foreign language (submit TOEFL exam - English or equivalent 450 points or B1), for those who have already done so, this document must be within the validity of one year to date).
•Letter of intent explaining your reasons for taking the program.
•Letter expressing motivations and previous experience towards science.
• Curriculum vitae with supporting documents. • Participation in events that promote young talent towards science (conferences, summer scientific research programs, academic stays, etc.).
•Previous experience in research (degree through thesis, participation in research projects, research stays and publication of scientific articles).
• Aptitudes and skills for creative and logical-mathematical thinking. Take the CENEVAL EXANI III exam or the exam proposed by the postgraduate program itself.
•Develop and present a research protocol linked to one of the research lines of the postgraduate program
•Pass the preparatory course.
•In the case of foreigners, they must have the corresponding immigration authorization (FM3) and prove proficiency in the Spanish language.
•Birth certificate, copy of CURP and voter ID for national applicants.
•2 passport-size photographs.
•Any additional requirements established by the call for applications and defined by the Academic Board.
Evaluation Process for Student Selection and Admission (Weighting of criteria) •Research protocol, valuing the ability to develop and argue it (30%);
•Evaluation of the Curriculum Vitae with supporting documents (20%);
•Interview with the candidate, assessing the applicant's profile, research experience, skills, attitudes and values for research (20%);
• Academic performance in the preparatory course provides academic elements
Instruments to achieve a comprehensive vision, content and basic tools of environmental health; the performance, attitudes, aptitudes of the applicant and the products developed during the preparatory course are evaluated (30%).
