There is a great demand in Mexico for professionals for research and teaching in the area of pharmacology, with a multidisciplinary approach that masters molecular and genetic methodological techniques that allow them to enter the field of drug design and its potential link with the industry pharmacist.

There is no Pharmacology Doctorate program in Mexico that links basic training with its clinical application, which is why there is an alarming lack of clinical pharmacologists training professionals trained to take responsibility for the clinical evaluation of drugs, to provide therapeutic advice in hospital centers and carry out the professional evaluation of the toxic effects of drugs already in use (pharmacovigilance).

This Doctoral Program in Pharmacology at the University of Guadalajara is conceived as a multidisciplinary and multicenter program, since it is structured with the coordinated participation of professionals from various areas who work in different fields of the teaching, healthcare and productive sectors, such as University Centers, Hospital Units and the Pharmaceutical Industry. In addition to trying to structure a coordinated regional participation with the Research Centers and Human Resources Training Centers of our geographical area.
