General objective.  To develop skills, attitudes and knowledge that provide the student with a broad and solid education with critical and creative capacity through original research on Apicultural Production Systems.
 
Specific objectives

  • To train human resources who are leaders in beekeeping research, nationally and internationally. 
  • To stimulate the development of the national beekeeping potential, through the training of human resources specialized in research, in the field of administration, nutrition, conservation, management and rational use of bees, for production, pollination and industrialization. 
  • Develop theoretical and practical conceptual skills that allow the Master of Science in Apicultural Production to integrate into inter- and multidisciplinary research teams, which stimulate apiculture and contribute to the improvement of the management of bee programs and projects. 
  • To promote bee production systems so that they become an important economic activity in Mexico's agricultural system, capable of contributing to rural development and increasing the production of agricultural crops, through research in crop pollination. 
  • To promote proper management through research on stingless bees, in order to develop and preserve meliponiculture in a sustainable way to protect the ecosystems of western Mexico.

Admission Requirements

These are those established in the current university regulations applicable to postgraduate studies, as well as the following: 
  • Title or graduation certificate and proof of completion of social service for a Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics, Agronomy, Natural and Agricultural Resources, Biology, Agribusiness, Agrobiotechnology or Administration or areas related to the program, the latter at the discretion of the Postgraduate Academic Board. 
  • Have a minimum average of 80 in undergraduate studies, supported by a certificate. 
  • Letter of intent explaining the reasons for taking the program. 
  • Submit two letters of recommendation from academics of recognized prestige. 
  • Pass the knowledge and skills test. 
  • Obtain a favorable opinion from the interview conducted with the Academic Board. 
  • Present and obtain at least a minimum of 1000 points in the EXANI III of CENEVAL. 
  • Demonstrate a minimum level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR), preferably in English or its equivalent. 
  • Dedicate full time to the program. 
  • Students with studies completed abroad must submit apostilled documents; if they are in a language other than Spanish, they must include a translation.
  • Approve the other requirements published in the respective call for applications.
