Aim


General objective  of the Master's Degree in Youth Studies is to train researchers in the field of studies on the condition of youth in basic and applied science, with skills for the identification, analysis and intervention of youth problems. 


Specific objectives.


  • Develop skills for the identification and diagnosis of phenomena and problems that concern young people.
  • Develop skills in cross-cutting and interdisciplinary design to design and execute research projects.
  • Develop skills in transdisciplinary, transversal and interdisciplinary design to design and implement public policies and intervention programs for youth.
  • Develop skills for critical thinking and the handling of theoretical and methodological currents in youth studies.

Admission Requirements

These are those established in the current university regulations applicable to postgraduate studies, as well as the following:
  • A simple copy of the Bachelor's degree or graduation certificate and proof of completion of social service in the areas of social sciences, humanities, administration, health and professionals interested in the topic of youth.
  • Demonstrate a minimum average of eighty with an original certificate or equivalent document from previous studies, as applicable.
  • Original birth certificate.
  • Have a Unique Population Registry Code (CURP). In the case of foreigners, it must be valid.
  • Demonstrate a minimum level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR), preferably in English or its equivalent.
  • All applicants must submit the results of the EXANI III exam with a minimum score of 950 points.
  • Pass the preparatory course.
  • Submit two letters of recommendation from academics, researchers, or directors of Higher Education Institutions.
  • Submit a letter explaining your reasons for enrolling in the program.
  • Submit a preliminary research proposal.
  • Submit a letter of commitment for full-time work.
  • Participate in an interview with members of the Master's Academic Board.
  • Approve the other requirements published in the respective call for applications.
 
Applicants, graduates and/or degree holders of the University of Guadalajara are exempt from complying with the delivery of a simple copy or original of the requirements established in sections a), b) and c) of this resolution, since the school archive already has the electronic information of the same.
 
For students with previous studies completed abroad, in addition to the above, the following is required: the degree, certificates and birth certificate apostilled or with the procedure applicable for countries not members of the Hague Convention and if they are in a language other than Spanish, accompany a translation by an accredited expert.
