The Master's Degree in Social Innovation and Welfare Management is a professional program in a classroom setting, which since 2019 has belonged to the National Registry of Quality Postgraduate Programs, NOW the National System of Postgraduate Programs, and is designed for all those who intend to generate social welfare projects.


Social innovation has gained increasing relevance in recent years, becoming of interest to public and private organizations, as well as civil society organizations. This interest stems from the concern to create strategies that help solve current social problems. The complexity of these problems compels us to define the social innovation process from a multidimensional, multidisciplinary, and global perspective.


The program is focused on training professionals capable of creating, managing, implementing and evaluating Social Innovation projects as a means to help solve social problems and improve well-being through the development of managerial and organizational management skills, from a scientific perspective, with ethical values ​​and a proactive attitude of solidarity and responsibility.


Likewise, in professional terms, it is characterized by the identification and application of the fundamentals of Social Innovation and Welfare Management in situations of its context in a creative and innovative way, for the implementation of social innovation and welfare management projects and programs.

Admission Requirements

  • Copy of the bachelor's degree or copy of the graduation certificate and proof of completion of the social service for bachelor's degrees in areas related to administrative sciences, social sciences, and health sciences.
  • Demonstrate interest in the development of social innovation projects and welfare management in a letter of intent.
  • According to the foreign language policy of the University of Guadalajara, it is expected that the applicant will preferably demonstrate Level B1 of the MRCEL.
  • Present a preliminary social application project that can be linked to one of the Knowledge Generation and Application Lines of the educational program.
  • Submit an exam to a national body that certifies your aptitude and knowledge to be able to pursue postgraduate studies (the EXANI III of CENEVAL), whose minimum score will be established by the Academic Board based on the nature of the call.
  • Evaluation through interviews with members of the Academic Board or with whomever this collegiate body assigns.
  • Pass the preparatory course.
  • Those additional ones established by the call for applications.
