  • To offer a quality education option to meet the demand for postgraduate programs focused on Digital Signal Processing, Mathematics and Nanosciences, in the Valleys region of the State of Jalisco. 
  • To contribute to the decentralization of scientific research.
  • To provide the student with a scientific, technological and humanistic culture, which will prepare him to solve unprecedented problems and at the same time enable him to adapt and incorporate scientific and technological advances into his professional field.
 
The overall objective of the doctoral program  is to train competent researchers in the fields of Mathematics, Digital Signal Processing, and Nanoscience, with the capacity to generate scientific knowledge and a strong sense of integrity.
 
Specific objectives
  • To encourage the search and acquisition of theoretical and methodological elements that allow for deepening and generating new knowledge in the chosen orientation and lines of research.
  • Develop critical and reflective thinking skills that lead to the planning and development of original research projects with social relevance.
  • To train social agents of change with the capacity to train human resources for research.
  • Training for the management and handling of financial resources for research.
  • Training for the dissemination of scientific knowledge.

Admission Requirements

In addition to those established in university regulations, the following are required: 
  • Master's degree title or degree examination record.
  • A minimum average grade of 80, with an original certificate or equivalent document from previous studies. Foreign applicants, in addition to meeting the aforementioned academic and institutional requirements, must have immigration authorization and demonstrate financial solvency.
  • To pass the defense of a research project proposal before an admissions committee, endorsed by a professor recognized by the Academic Board who agrees to be your thesis director.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of at least one foreign language (preferably English) at an intermediate level (submit a certificate issued by a recognized institution).
  • Letter of intent explaining the reasons for taking the program.
  • Curriculum evaluation.
  • Those additional ones established by the call for applications.
