The program of the Doctorate in Psychology with an orientation in Quality of Life and Health, includes the conceptualization of Lines of Generation and Application of Knowledge (LGAC) in which the research projects of the students will be developed. These encompass some of the knowledge and skills on which the program's teachers have focused during the last 10 years based on their experience in doctoral studies. Likewise, they summarize part of the knowledge that has been transformed into research products that include undergraduate and postgraduate theses, articles, book chapters, academic bodies, presentations, among others.


Scholarships granted to students admitted to one of the postgraduate courses at the University of Guadalajara, accredited by the CONACyT National Quality Postgraduate Program, are subject to CONACyT's budget availability in the area allocated to the national scholarship program, as well as as determined through an evaluation process that will be conducted by CONACyT. Therefore, the admission process carried out by the programs of this Institution only guarantees admission to it, not to the CONACyT scholarships. However, the application process for said benefit, if it corresponds to the Postgraduate Coordinator, not the decision of its assignment.

Admission Requirements

  • Master's degree or, where appropriate, the degree examination certificate.
  • Letter of explanation of reasons to study the program.
  • Present two letters of recommendation by academics of recognized prestige.
  • Submit the research project proposal, considering the guidelines established by the Academic Board, with the endorsement of a member of the Basic Academic Nucleus, who could act as their tutor.
  • Pass the conceptual and methodological analysis exam of scientific texts and obtain a favorable opinion in the interview with the Academic Board. Those who have opted for the master's level of this doctorate will be exempt from the knowledge test.
  • Obtain a favorable opinion in the oral defense of the project.
  • Present EXANI III of the CENEVAL.
  • Submit proof that proves proficiency in the English language in at least 350 points of the TOEFL exam or proof issued by a recognized institution, dedicated to teaching or accreditation of the level of knowledge of English, which is equivalent, in the opinion of the Academic Board of the program. Applicants whose mother tongue is not Spanish must also demonstrate command of the Spanish language.
  • Students with studies abroad must present the apostilled documents.
  • Dedicate full time to the doctoral program.
  • Those additional ones that the call establishes.
