The Doctorate in History of the University of Guadalajara,  attached to the University Center for Social Sciences and Humanities,  belongs to the National Register of Quality Postgraduate Studies (PNPC) recognized as a recently created program.
With the purpose of generating processes for national and international academic integration and cooperation and as an educational policy strategy, this Doctorate in History was created, which aspires to the training of high-level human resources that contribute to the development of Ibero-American historical knowledge., and that responds to the challenges of globalization through internationalization strategies, aimed at the mobility of both students and teachers.

Admission Requirements

  • Degree or master's degree examination certificate in history or in disciplines related to social sciences and humanities, issued by a recognized higher education institution;
  • Statement of reasons to study the Doctorate program in history.
  • Proposal of a research topic in the area of ​​History in which coherence is evidenced between the student's topic of interest and the line of generation and application of knowledge to which he aspires.
  • Commitment letter of full-time availability to attend the program.
  • Accredit a minimum average of 80 (eighty), with an original certificate or a comparable document, of the previous studies, as the case may be.
  • Proof of understanding of two foreign languages, relevant to the research project, according to the score established by the Academic Board.
  • Those applicants who are not Spanish speakers must demonstrate command of the Spanish language.
  • Credit the CENEVAL exam, EXANI III, by obtaining the score established by the Academic Board.
  • Obtain a favorable result in the curricular assessment interview.
  • Those additional ones that the call establishes.
