The Master's Degree in Political Science is a postgraduate program focused on research and designed to train young researchers capable of analyzing, understanding and interpreting the exercise of power in various scenarios, by multiple actors, and in different political situations. The program offers theoretical and methodological training in political science, as well as four lines of specialization:
  • Political Culture, Civil Society, Social Movements and Citizenship.
  • Government and Public Policy.
  • Institutions, Behavior and Political Communication.
  • International Politics, Geopolitics and Security 

 
The Master's Degree in Political Science belongs to the National Quality Postgraduate Program (PNPC) of CONACyT, so students have the possibility of being beneficiaries of a maintenance scholarship to dedicate full time to the program. Our Basic Academic Nucleus is made up of twenty-nine full-time research professors, and almost entirely members of the National System of Researchers (SNI).

Admission Requirements

  • The bachelor's degree or degree certificate in political science, social sciences or related disciplines, issued by a recognized higher education institution.
  • Statement of reasons for pursuing the master's program.
  • Proposal for a research topic in the area of ​​political science that shows coherence between the student's topic of interest and the line of generation and application of knowledge to which he aspires.
  • Commitment letter of full-time availability to attend the program.
  • Accredit a minimum average of 80 (eighty), with an original certificate or a comparable document, of the previous studies, as the case may be.
  • Prove foreign language proficiency: English, French or German: with the score determined by the Academic Board.
  • Accredit the CENEVAL EXANI III exam, with the requirements approved by the Academic Board.
  • Obtain a favorable result in the curricular assessment interview.
  • Those additional ones that the call establishes.
