The Master's Degree in Public Policy is built on a long history of collaboration between El Colegio de Jalisco and the Center for Economic-Administrative Sciences (CUCEA) of the University of Guadalajara (UdeG). These are the few master's programs with a shared vocation for the study and teaching of public policies that recover the best of both institutions.


This programme aims to train professionals in the study, analysis, design and evaluation of high-level public policies, capable of providing the best responses to the demands of society related to public service, particularly in government and/or private organizations linked to the provision and public goods service; as well as strengthening its bond with society through strengthening values ​​such as honesty, solidarity, tolerance and commitment to strengthening basic freedoms and the development of individuals and their communities.

Admission Requirements

  • Accredit the reading-comprehension of the English language, through some of the authorized or standardized exams for it.
  • Submit and pass the knowledge admission exam endorsed by the Academic Board, and/or where appropriate, demonstrate that they have the necessary skills to pursue the Master's degree.
  • Carry out and pass the propaedeutic course.
  • Submit two letters of recommendation from academics, researchers or directors of institutions in the area of ​​public policy.
  • Submit a preliminary research project in some of the Master's Lines of Generation and Application of Knowledge.
  • Participate in an interview with the members of the Academic Board of the Master.
  • Submit a letter explaining academic, professional and personal reasons to enter the master's degree.
  • Those determined by the Academic Board, in accordance with the powers granted by the General Postgraduate Regulations of the University of Guadalajara and the regulations and guidelines of the corresponding University Center.
