Mexico is going through a period marked by violence and crime that to this day represents a serious problem for society and the security system. There is a deficit of economic and human resources, the latter with professional training in the field of Forensic Genetics and Human Identification (GFIH). In addition to the above, there is a lack of institutions in Mexico for the training of GFIH specialists.
 
The need to train professionals of excellence, capable of contributing to the development of tools to apply scientific and technological advances in forensic investigation, is recognized. Participation in forensic laboratories through the application of new techniques or the development and improvement of existing ones in the field of GFIH is a priority.
 
The Master's program in Forensic Genetics and Human Identification (MGFIH) at the University of Guadalajara is aimed at health sciences and related professionals who meet the requirements for entry into the program. The graduate of the master's degree will effectively apply the technical and methodological skills required in their field, and will design research projects applied to forensic sciences. She will be able to effectively communicate her disciplinary knowledge in the areas of teaching, research and dissemination. Additionally, she will coordinate, integrate and participate effectively in multi and interdisciplinary work teams in various areas of Forensic Sciences.

Admission Requirements

  • Title or certificate of qualification and proof of completion of social service in the medical, chemical, biological, criminalistics and forensic sciences, or related to the program based on the criteria of the Academic Board;
  • Have a minimum average of 80 in undergraduate studies endorsed by the certificate;
  • Demonstrate a minimum B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFRL) in the English language
  • Explanation letter
  • Approve the other requirements published in the respective call.
