General objective.  The Master's Degree in Public Health Management aims to train researchers capable of understanding, explaining, and generating solutions to local, national, and regional problems from a social and humanistic perspective, with knowledge and skills related to population health. 
 
Specific objectives. 
  • Understanding the conceptualizations and functions of Public Health based on the critical evaluation of existing models at the local, national and international levels.
  • Plan and direct research projects in the area of ​​public health in the national and international context.
  • Strengthen capacities and skills under theoretical, methodological and technical competencies for functions not only of research but also of teaching.
  • Develop the ability to make decisions based on data collection, analysis and management with the support of technological tools.
  • To promote analytical, critical and strategic thinking for solving population health problems.
  • To formulate health policies, programs and projects that benefit collective health, jointly with the Government at different levels, public and private institutions, as well as the public sector.
  • Strengthen and promote multidisciplinary and intersectoral teamwork for the search for solutions and intervention of health problems.
  • Promote ethical values ​​with a vision of social and environmental responsibility.

Admission Requirements

These are those established in the current university regulations applicable to postgraduate studies, as well as the following:   
  • Simple copy of the Bachelor's degree or graduation certificate and proof of completion of social service in the areas of health, administration, law or social sciences.
  • Demonstrate a minimum average of eighty with an original certificate or equivalent document from previous studies, as applicable.
  • Original birth certificate. 
  • Have a Unique Population Registry Code (CURP). In the case of foreigners, it must be valid.
  • Demonstrate a score of 350 on the TOEFL or its equivalent in assessments such as TOEICS and IELTS, and the Academic Board will decide the proportion of this assessment for admission to the academic program based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR), preferably in English.
  • Submit two letters of academic and/or professional recommendation.
  • Submit a letter explaining your reasons for enrolling in the program.
  • To assess the aptitude of applicants, 1000 points in EXANI III or its equivalent evaluations such as GRE and GMAT will be taken into reference and the Academic Board will decide the proportion of this evaluation in the admission to the academic program.
  • Cover the fees corresponding to the selection process and carry out the administrative procedures indicated by current regulations.
  • Approve the other requirements published in the respective call for applications.
 
Applicants who are graduates and/or have received a degree from the University of Guadalajara are exempt from submitting a simple copy or original of the requirements established in sections a), b) and c) of this resolution, since the school archive already contains the electronic information of the same.
 
For students with previous studies completed abroad, in addition to the above, the following is required:

The degree, certificates and birth certificate must be apostilled or the applicable procedure for countries not members of the Hague Convention and if they are in a language other than Spanish, accompany a translation by an accredited expert.
