Doctoral Program in Chemical Engineering at the Complutense University have a long tradition, which began in a differentiated way with the Doctorate in Industrial Chemistry, established at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences in 1944. The Doctoral Program in Chemical Engineering began in the 1987-88 academic year, and with slight modifications it continues until the 2006-07 academic year in which the Official Postgraduate Program in Chemical Engineering is approved, which includes the Master's Degree in Industrial Process Engineering and the Doctorate Program in Chemical engineering. The Doctorate program in Chemical Engineering obtained the Quality Mention for the first time in the 2004-05 academic year, (MCD 2004/0032, regulated by RD 778/1998); subsequently, the Quality Mention was also obtained for the Official Chemical Engineering Postgraduate Program (MCD 2006/00491, regulated by RD 56/2005). Finally, the Doctorate program in Chemical Engineering, regulated by RD 1393/2007, also achieved the Mention for Excellence in 2011 (MEE 2011/0011).
