Information and Documentation studies have their origin in the famous Higher School of Diplomacy, which from the mid-nineteenth century to 1900 specifically trained the professionals of the Corps of Archivists and Librarians, and were integrated into the University. Since the 70s There is specific training for Documentation professionals, experts in Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres. The basic objective of the Degree in Information and Documentation is to train professionals capable of selecting, managing, organizing and preserving documentation and information so that it can be used by third parties regardless of where it is stored or its format and support. The Faculty of Documentation Sciences is located in the center of Madrid, with excellent communication through public transport (three metro stations and four bus lines), and it has the necessary infrastructure and equipment to deliver the programme: program: libraries and documentary resources, classrooms, laboratories, conference room, computer rooms, workshops, Wi-Fi connection, etc.

Admission Requirements
To be admitted to this degree, you must meet the requirements for access to the University contemplated by current regulations: selectivity, International Baccalaureates, Validation agreements, access for people over 25 years of age, over 40 years of age, etc. You have all the details on the University Admissions page: ucm.es
In the case of non-native Spanish speakers, according to the Agreement of the Governing Council of January 29, 2019 (BOUC of February 7, 2019), which approves the Spanish language requirements for admission to Degree and Master's degree and linguistic/language skills, all students from non-Spanish-speaking countries or educational systems must prove a knowledge of Spanish according to the CEFR level B2, at the time of submitting the application for admission to the Degree.
