The Master's Degree in International Law of the UCM, implemented in the 2010-2011 academic year, is aimed at training jurists specialized in International Law, offering  advanced training  so that interested students can extend their undergraduate or graduate studies, including the investigative dimension of issues relating to this broad discipline. The master also gives access to a Doctorate not only at the Complutense University of Madrid, but also at any University of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Taught by  doctoral professors from the Department of Public International Law and Private International Law  of the UCM, the degree aims for students to acquire a series of competencies  (capabilities/skills) typical of master's studies (transversal competencies) in International Law (generic skills) and within the subjects that make up its modules (specific skills). The transversal and generic skills taught in this master's degree result from the assumption of those established in Annex I of RD 1393/2007 for master's studies, obviously applied to the legal field. They can be classified into those that are common to any training in International Law and those that are specific to each of the specialization sectors: Public International Law, Private International Law and European Union Law.

Admission Requirements

If you come from an EU country you must have a bachelor's degree from a Spanish university, or from a university in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

If you are a graduate from outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) you can access the university without the need to officially certify your degree, once the UCM has verified that your level of studies is equivalent to a bachelor's degree at a university in Spain. Access via this route does not in any case imply the official certification of your degree prior to starting your Masters course.
