The Interuniversity Master's Degree in Nuclear Physics aims to provide students with a solid education that covers both fundamental aspects of the discipline and applied ones. Each of the courses will generally be taught in four phases: Its fundamental objectives are to promote postgraduate studies in Nuclear Physics at the state level and to promote scientific exchange between postgraduate students and professors in the area. The Interuniversity Master's Degree in Nuclear Physics aims to provide students with a solid education that covers both fundamental aspects of the discipline and applied ones. Each of the courses will generally be taught in four phases:

  • Preliminary phase: Students will receive a detailed program as well as the relevant bibliography that they must know previously. This phase is non-face-to-face and will be supervised by the tutor of each student at the University of origin. As a general rule, the tutor must spend 10 contact hours with the student for each course before its delivery to guide him and control his level of learning.
  • Theoretical phase: During the week of the course, between 20 and 30 face-to-face theoretical hours will be taught to present the syllabus.
  • Practical phase: During the week of the course, between 4 and 10 hours of face-to-face tutorials will be given, where doubts will be resolved, practical assumptions will be developed and the exercises that the students must solve will be proposed.
  • Final phase: The students, at their university of origin, will carry out the proposed exercises and hand them in for evaluation. In this phase, the professors of the subject can be consulted by email. In this phase, the tutor will dedicate about 10 face-to-face hours to control the student's progress and advise him on the problems/work that he must prepare. As a final point, the students must deliver to the professors the problems/works/memoirs required for their evaluation.

Admission Requirements

If you come from an EU country you must have a bachelor's degree from a Spanish university, or from a university in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

If you are a graduate from outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) you can access the university without the need to officially certify your degree, once the UCM has verified that your level of studies is equivalent to a bachelor's degree at a university in Spain. Access via this route does not in any case imply the official certification of your degree prior to starting your Masters course.
