The Degree in General and Comparative Literature guarantees the acquisition of the skills of the Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (MECES). In particular, the title will guarantee the acquisition of knowledge, the application of judgements, the transmission of information, ideas, problems and solutions to a general public and will qualify them to undertake higher studies with a high degree of autonomy. The interdisciplinary approach to literary studies is essential in today's knowledge society. Therefore, the fundamental objective of the Degree is the training of the student in interdisciplinary models from a double theoretical and practical approach, which translates into two transversal objectives: (1) teaching to encourage reflection on literature from a perspective that appropriates of other critical discourses, such as the philosophical, the linguistic or the anthropological, and (2) apply this knowledge in the concrete analysis of the texts or of the diverse problematic that the comparison proposes.
