This Master's Degree in Sociocultural Analysis of Knowledge and Communication has a marked academic-scientific nature and responds to the interest that today's societies have in the development of the  knowledge and information society and the necessary analysis and research from a sociocultural perspective  that this phenomenon demands. The general objective of the course is to train specialists and analysts in the study of these aspects. At the beginning of the 21st century, scientific knowledge, and in particular that of the  social and human sciences, is deeply concerned by the processes, practices and theoretical conceptions of communication, and by the set of  transformations in the production, distribution and social use of knowledge that are usually included under the categories of the "information society" and the "knowledge society". The contemporary practices of communication and information, industrially and technologically mediated, are fundamental in the processes of sociocultural production and reproduction, in the organization of daily life, in the configuration of exchange and sociocultural networks as a whole, and in the conformation particular of the new knowledge management structures, such as techno-networks and techno-memories. Knowledge about communication acquires, in short, a strategic value, and must occupy the center of all organizational, institutional, economic and political forecasts that try to rationalize cultural flows and social changes – especially those that concern relationships intercultural.
