The Master's Degree in Hispanic American Literature aims to respond to the needs created by the ever-increasing presence of Latin American literary production in contemporary cultural life. The master focuses not only on the specificity of Latin American literature, but also on its links with historical, political, sociological and anthropological reality, and at the same time its relations with other fields and artistic languages. The knowledge and skills that the master's students obtain will enable them for their future work in the field of teaching and research, but also in cultural management, intercultural mediation, diplomatic relations between Europe and America, journalism culture, publishing and other skills that favor their labor insertion. However, It should not be forgotten that one of the priority intentions of the master is the training of future doctors in Latin American literature. For this reason, the student will be provided with the necessary strategies and methods for their research, and especially for the preparation of their doctoral thesis.

Admission Requirements

If you come from an EU country you must have a bachelor's degree from a Spanish university, or from a university in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

If you are a graduate from outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) you can access the university without the need to officially certify your degree, once the UCM has verified that your level of studies is equivalent to a bachelor's degree at a university in Spain. Access via this route does not in any case imply the official certification of your degree prior to starting your Masters course.
