The Doctoral Program in Law of the UCM Law School aims to complete the current cycles of Degree, Double Degree and Master. This program has an undoubted academic and research scientific interest. On the one hand, it allows training at the highest level of teaching staff in the legal field, since quality teaching is inconceivable without excellent research training. On the other hand, in the scientific-research aspect, the completion of quality doctoral theses and the publication of their results are essential for the contribution of the University to the advancement of society. The doctoral theses in Law not only offer solutions to issues of great importance for our society within the framework of current Law, but also allow detecting the need to improve current regulations and offer ways for their improvement; that is, to make them fairer and more technically correct. Hence, the general focus of the Doctoral Program of the Faculty of Law of the UCM is aimed at Research, Development and Innovation (R+D+I). The transfer of knowledge to the practical field is facilitated by close collaboration with the law-creating bodies and with the main bodies of its application at a national and international level.

To complete your doctoral studies you will need to present a doctoral thesis consisting of an original work of research by the student in any field of knowledge.
