The Master's Degree in Medieval Studies is aimed at all those students who have completed a bachelor's degree or degree in History, Art History, Philology, Philosophy, Humanities and related degrees who wish to delve into specialized topics in medieval times. Its academic-scientific and interdisciplinary nature will enable the training of researchers in the period from late Antiquity to the beginning of the Modern world (3rd to 15th centuries), in Europe and the Mediterranean. The training offer of the master includes content that provides critical and specialized knowledge of the history, art, literature, philosophy and culture of the Middle Ages, as well as documentary and material sources. In this way, a diversified, attractive and quality offer is ensured both in content and in the appropriate skills to carry out research and training tasks in these subjects. At the end of the master, the student will be able to approach, from an innovative perspective, problems characteristic of the medieval world from an interdisciplinary perspective that incorporates historical, philological, artistic and philosophical elements.

Admission Requirements

If you come from an EU country you must have a bachelor's degree from a Spanish university, or from a university in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

If you are a graduate from outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) you can access the university without the need to officially certify your degree, once the UCM has verified that your level of studies is equivalent to a bachelor's degree at a university in Spain. Access via this route does not in any case imply the official certification of your degree prior to starting your Masters course.
