The main objective of the Degree in Veterinary Medicine is the comprehensive training of graduates to develop their activity in any facet of the veterinary profession, from knowledge of the structures, functions and behavior of healthy animals, individual clinical activity and of collectivities, putting special interest in the processes transmissible to the human being; preventive medicine ; food technology and hygiene; and the application of improvements in animal production. All this in accordance with the legislation, regulations and administrative provisions that regulate it. In a more extensive way, the objectives are defined in Royal Decree 1837/2008, of November 8, which incorporates Directive 2005/36 into the Spanish legal system, in its article 51, which determines the knowledge that will mark the graduate profile.
