The Master's Degree in History of the Hispanic Monarchy responds to the need to provide advanced training that makes it possible to specialize in the History of Spain and its area of influence during the period between the 15th and 19th centuries. Given the particular relevance of this historical period, special attention is paid to the close connection with the Central European territories, the Mediterranean - specifically with the Italian Peninsula -, Portugal and the American space fully integrated into the concept of the Hispanic Monarchy. Its main purpose is that, once the Bachelor's degree in History has been completed, the students obtain greater academic specialization, broadening their knowledge in this area of study and can also initiate themselves in the scientific activity of this discipline, offering the training and techniques necessary for the elaboration of research works. These tasks may be oriented towards the completion of a doctoral thesis or other professional activities in fields such as publishing, cultural management, heritage, etc.

Admission Requirements
If you come from an EU country you must have a bachelor's degree from a Spanish university, or from a university in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
If you are a graduate from outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) you can access the university without the need to officially certify your degree, once the UCM has verified that your level of studies is equivalent to a bachelor's degree at a university in Spain. Access via this route does not in any case imply the official certification of your degree prior to starting your Masters course.
