The Master's Degree in Literary Translation is of undoubted academic interest, since it offers for the first time some teachings that are not offered in any of the existing degrees or in any other Spanish university. The teaching staff in charge of the teachings offered in the master's degree is the best guarantee of quality, since among them are literary translators of highly recognized prestige, who have numerous awards and distinctions to their credit. On the other hand, it has an indisputable scientific interest, since a space is also dedicated to criticism and research in literary translation, a field still little studied in our country. In this sense, the cast of professors involved in the Master's also offers an undoubted guarantee due to the numerous research projects they have worked on. Finally, the master offers an obvious professional interest, as publishers are increasingly interested in offering readers quality translations, prepared by translators with solid training. If one takes into account that Spanish is, today, the second most spoken language in the world, it is easy to perceive the great need for translators in all the Spanish-speaking countries that are needed to be able to carry out this very important activity. necessary for cultural transmission in the globalized world.

Admission Requirements

If you come from an EU country you must have a bachelor's degree from a Spanish university, or from a university in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

If you are a graduate from outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) you can access the university without the need to officially certify your degree, once the UCM has verified that your level of studies is equivalent to a bachelor's degree at a university in Spain. Access via this route does not in any case imply the official certification of your degree prior to starting your Masters course.
