The Master's Degree in Early Attention: Prevention, Detection and Intervention in Development and Learning Disorders , of a professional and investigative nature, which is a way of specialization and professionalization for different graduates (teachers, pedagogues, social educators, social workers, psychologists, educational psychologists, doctors, etc.), responding to the demands of society and, more specifically, of the educational system in the training of professionals with advanced knowledge in the care of children aged between 0-6 years who are in situations of biological, socio-environmental risk or when they present alterations in their growth. The objectives are:

  • Acquire advanced, specialized and interdisciplinary training in the different areas of Early Intervention.
  • Develop the promotion of the improvement of the educational response from an interdisciplinary model with the aim of improving the quality of life of early childhood education students in situations of biological or socio-environmental risk or with special educational needs.
  • Know the proper use of evaluation and intervention procedures for children in situations of high risk or with disabilities.
  • Effectively attend to any of the special educational needs that arise in the personal, family, school or institutional sphere, both formal and non-formal.
  • Generate in the student, through education in values, the necessary sensitivity to formulate judgments, which include reflections on the social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge.

Admission Requirements

If you come from an EU country you must have a bachelor's degree from a Spanish university, or from a university in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). 

If you are a graduate from outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) you can access the university without the need to officially certify your degree, once the UCM has verified that your level of studies is equivalent to a bachelor's degree at a university in Spain. Access via this route does not in any case imply the official certification of your degree prior to starting your Masters course.
