The university Master's Degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid was introduced in the 2010/2011 academic year with the aim of training economics professionals who are technically prepared at an advanced level and who can perform functions of:
- Economist in research services for banks, companies and other public and private entities,
- Academic work as a professor and researcher of Economics in university institutions.
To this end, students will acquire the fundamental knowledge of economic science -economic analysis, quantitative methods and applied economics- that will allow them to develop the technical skills to lead complex jobs in the indicated positions. In short, the Master in Economics wants to respond to the needs of today's society, which demands well-prepared economists for positions of responsibility, both in private companies and in national and international public bodies.

Admission Requirements
If you come from an EU country you must have a bachelor's degree from a Spanish university, or from a university in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
If you are a graduate from outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) you can access the university without the need to officially certify your degree, once the UCM has verified that your level of studies is equivalent to a bachelor's degree at a university in Spain. Access via this route does not in any case imply the official certification of your degree prior to starting your Masters course.
