The objective of the Degree in Modern Languages and Literatures is to provide students with knowledge of modern languages embedded in their historical, social, literary and cultural space. The student will have spoken and written competence in at least two modern languages and their literatures, which gives these studies an eminently multicultural character. In addition, among the objectives with which the student must commit is self-learning as an instrument of development and professional responsibility. This must also have innovative capacity and dissemination of scientific findings. The international nature of this degree is guaranteed by the fact that it is supported by information and communication technologies (ICT), thanks above all to the UCM Virtual Campus platform and the latest-generation multimedia language laboratory. installed in the Faculty of Philology. The pedagogical content of this degree is offered through a structure in Major-Minor languages and literature, which ensures the solid professional training of our students.

Admission Requirements
To be admitted to this degree, you must meet the requirements for access to the University contemplated by current regulations: selectivity, International Baccalaureates, Validation agreements, access for people over 25 years of age, over 40 years of age, etc. You have all the details on the University Admissions page: ucm.es
In the case of non-native Spanish speakers, according to the Agreement of the Governing Council of January 29, 2019 (BOUC of February 7, 2019), which approves the Spanish language requirements for admission to Degree and Master's degree and linguistic/language skills, all students from non-Spanish-speaking countries or educational systems must prove a knowledge of Spanish according to the CEFR level B2, at the time of submitting the application for admission to the Degree.
