Besides the scope of the former master of forming future researchers in Mathematics, it also aims to complete the mathematical education of the new graduated students. It is also opened to any student with enough mathematical background who wishes to complement his mathematical formation. The master addresses advanced content in the areas of algebra, geometry, topology, mathematical analysis and applied mathematics, structured in interrelated subjects. The knowledge learned and the analytical vision of facing problems should give the student autonomy to use them, either in the academic world, if they wish to write a doctoral thesis in Mathematics, or in the professional field in other sectors.

If you are a graduate from outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) you can access the university without the need to officially certify your degree, once the UCM has verified that your level of studies is equivalent to a bachelor's degree at a university in Spain. Access via this route does not in any case imply the official certification of your degree prior to starting your Masters course.
