The Degree in Physiotherapy graduate is the professional prepared to identify, describe, treat and compare health problems that can be answered from Physiotherapy, using for this the set of methods, procedures, models, techniques and actions that, through the application of physical means, cure, prevent, recover and adapt people affected by impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or changes in physical function and health status, produced as a result of an injury, illness or other cause; also using these means in the areas of health promotion, prevention, protection and recovery. All this considering the individual in its triple dimension: biological, psychological and social. During recent years, the influence of changes originating in social and demographic, economic and financial, health and political aspects, has led to a profound transformation in the different health professions, and among them in Physiotherapy. Notable changes are, among others, the aging of the population and the increase in dependency caused by diseases and other causes of disability, together with the increase in survival of certain chronic diseases and congenital disorders and the important consequences derived from accident rates road and labor.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to this degree, you must meet the requirements for access to the University contemplated by current regulations: selectivity, International Baccalaureates, Validation agreements, access for people over 25 years of age, over 40 years of age, etc. You have all the details on the University Admissions page: ucm.es

In the case of non-native Spanish speakers, according to the Agreement of the Governing Council of January 29, 2019 (BOUC of February 7, 2019), which approves the Spanish language requirements for admission to Degree and Master's degree and linguistic/language skills, all students from non-Spanish-speaking countries or educational systems must prove a knowledge of Spanish according to the CEFR level B2, at the time of submitting the application for admission to the Degree.
