In the Degree in Biology we have the responsibility of generating and transferring Biology concepts to society, but above all we have and want to assume the inescapable responsibility of turning our students into professionals who will make Biology the basis for the conservation of our environment, the sustainable production of our food, the care of our health or the production of our energy, in conditions of accessibility to the whole society. Biology studies are taught in all European universities of excellence and consolidated academic tradition, and are one of the most demanded studies in the Community of Madrid. More than 50% of the students apply to enter the UCM as their first choice. Biology is listed as a profession, with its own recognized professional skills. The graduates show a high degree of labor insertion and a low period for their integration into the labor world.
