The Master's Degree in Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology with a modular organization that includes two training profiles: industrial and environmental, and that is offered with two orientations: research and professional, aims to offer students a broad multidisciplinary training in the field of Biotechnology that allows them to develop their activity both in the academic and business sectors. As a consequence of the planned training development, students must achieve the following skills:
- Analyze, plan, develop and control biotechnological processes of industrial production of interest capital including biofuels, biomaterials and biomolecules.
- Analyse, plan and develop processes to minimize the environmental impact of biotechnological production.
- Identify, manipulate, transform and conserve organisms and materials of biological origin for application in biotechnological processes.
- Develop procedures for the production of biotechnological compounds based on knowledge of the primary and secondary metabolism of organisms.
- Manage in vitro culture techniques and to obtain transgenic organisms for their use in production and bioremediation.

Admission Requirements
If you come from an EU country you must have a bachelor's degree from a Spanish university, or from a university in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
If you are a graduate from outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) you can access the university without the need to officially certify your degree, once the UCM has verified that your level of studies is equivalent to a bachelor's degree at a university in Spain. Access via this route does not in any case imply the official certification of your degree prior to starting your Masters course.
